Jo's Top TenTop TenTop Ten Top 10 Steps To A Great Day At The Office No matter where you work, a open cubicle, large office with a door or a home office, interruptions and not being organised during your workday will ultimately leave you feeling frustrated, tired and normally unsatisfied at the end of it. We need to take charge of our environment, stop tolerating the things that hold us back from our goals. 1. Plan the whole week taking into consideration the time of each day when your energy is high. 2. Schedule all of your activities, including your own tasks as well as appoinmtments with others. 3. Group similar activities into their own time blocks e.g. memo writing, mail handling etc. 4. Select the biggest, most important job and do it first. 5. Break down large projects into smaller more manageable chunks; stop and do something different at the end of each chunk. 6. Have mini rewards for jobs completed: e.g coffee break, fruit or a short walk and stretch. 7. Make adjustments to your schedule as required, be flexible. 8. Delegate tasks that someone else can do. 9. Find something complimentary to say to everyone who speaks to you and move on quickly. 10. At the end of the day, clean up your desk, update the next day's plan, take no projects home.
